Dragonfly Telephoto Lens

There is a telescope in New Mexico hoping to capture images of ultra-diffuse galaxies (UDGs), using advanced telephoto lens technology. The Dragonfly Telescope uses 24 Canon telephoto lenses to photograph images of deep space. This month the team announced it would be adding 120 more lenses, making the Dragonfly Telescope the largest of its kind. This $3.65 million upgrade will allow the telescope to filter through the dim light of space, making the dim light of distant galaxies more visible. With this technology Dragonfly aims to help scientists build on the theories of dark matter, gravity and the big bang.
